Meccano. Now there's a real man's engineering kit. Last year I made an oil rig with revolving drill and a beach buggy that went forwards and backwards.

just as good as the Makita won it replaced and a fraction of the cost.

Over the years I have lost many hours in construction, the most time consuming being a tie between Benny’s Space Ship and Kylo Ren’s Space Ship, both approx. 5-6 hours.

On both occasions I ended up in the late to early hours, drink taken, having promised it would be done by next morning.

I can verify, with authority, that Lego is a complete ****.

If indeed an inanimate object can be so.

Never really got on with Meccano, Lego however is just the bestest kids toy in the history of kids toys. FACT (imo)

You don't own any Snap On tools do you? I'll wager your socket set is Halford's own brand and is still as shiny as new because you never use it!

I have no idea, actually. All of my tools are within the purview of the handyman and the gardener, and I enter neither of their realms lest I encounter dirt, spiders or pornography.
