Good lord - not sure what is more shocking, that they have announced it or I found out such news from Rich. Anyway onwards and hopefully upwards

Me too. I thought news may be imminent after the club leaked news about PV4 and Wenger praising him etc.

I suspect he'll be the new boss.

I am assuming it's Vieria considering the club clearly leaked something to the media a couple of days ago/Wenger openly saying he could be the man.

Not sure what makes him qualified to do the job - all he's done is been New York manager.

All Guardiola had done before managing Barcelona was to manage their B team.

Modern managers don’t need to be like AW and perhaps Ferguson, controlling the club from top to bottom. They understand how a football club works and have the correct support structure around them.

PV is as good a risk as anybody.

He seems highly thought of... Even by people like Pep.

I suppose we must trust the board. I'd prefer Allegri.

Trust the board? Would this be the same board we've been slagging off as spineless, supine fools for years?

It'll be worth getting Paddy in just to hear that big old Vieira chant again. After a few weeks he'll be that "fackin useless pin headed ****" of course but there should be a decent honeymoon at least.

Well we now have a world-class Director of Football (Sanhelli) - who I assume appointed Enrique/Guardiola.

A world-class head of recruitment.

Some good players.

I just hope that they will now deliver the EL as a parting gift for the great man.

Is it really relevant to the role?

In a sort of 'show us your medals' type way, I suppose, yes. He can wind it out and win virtually any dispute.

He could also show them his medals, of course.

I read something the other day that suggested the top 3 most likely were Enrique, some young bloke in Germany managing Hoffenheim (I think) and Arteta.

I'm convinced it will be a young manager that could grow with the club i.e. not Ancelotti, beyond that it's guesswork but I would think the announcement would be sharpish post the season end?

Nagelsmann - would be very surprised if we went for him, I mean he's 30 ffs, far too young. I like the idea of Enrique

1 minute after the final game where we clinch a brilliant 6th place finish and think that iof it wasnt for AM scoring 4 goals more than us we would have won the EL

Pleased with the news but it also made me feel a bit sick. Hopefully we win the EL and send him out on a high.

 if this doesn't give the players some motivation to win the EL, they are either a) dead inside or b) a leeetle bit mentally handbraked.
