I often see people with a trolley full. I think they must spend more time putting the bottles in the machine than they do buying their shopping :hehe:

Oh I'm all in favour of that. I'd make it equivalent to the cost of the product within.

My reasons? 1. Chavs dropping litter might be discouraged from so doing. 2. The poor turtles, and so on.

I'd agree that it decreases the amount of litter you see, but more from the point of view that tramps/poor people go around collecting them because they can make a few quid. People will still chuck a can on the floor rather than carrying it around so they can get 10p back.

I bring a large plastic container thing to the bottle bank place about every 2-3 weeks, may as well get paid for it.

It will never take off here mind you as normally the bottle banks are overflowing and people just leave them on the pavement.

If it provides a useful income stream to homelesses and encourages them to clear up the streets, it's a massive win.

Same here, tbh. Most bottle banks are surrounded by cardboard boxes full of bottles people couldn't fit in them.

I live in Manchester, how is my plastic bottle going to end up in the Ocean?

For the record, all my plastic bottles go in the plastic/cans/bottle bin provided by the council

It's the arseache that bothers me. Currently, I pay Council Tax that ensures that my bottles are taken away, so I don't have to fvck about doing it myself. If this scheme comes into play, will my Council Tax go down? Will it fvck. I will be paying just as much and having to dispose of my own fvcking bottles. Fvck that.

This is yet another way for the state to get me to do the work while still taking my fvcking money. Cvnts.

Do you particularly enjoy frequent urination or something?

No, but then I dont live in Chelmsford. I also dont drink bottled beer.

It was a figure of speech. I was celebrating the fact that this will provide alternative sources of income for the homeless, particularly the more entrepreneurial among them. And as their collecting would both reduce litter and aid recycling it would effectively be a form of public service.

Well done the homeless!

If the thing works out in any way the same as it does in the EU, it won't just be the homeless cashing in. Unless the Eurotrash beggar class are extremely, one might even say suspiciously well-turned out.
