Well, he's just got 18 nations to expel 100 Russian diplomats in protest at the Salisbury attack in an unprecedented diplomatic coup.

Russia is getting a rather harsh lesson in the efficacy of soft power.

One wonder whether Uncle Vlad now feels that he has overplayed his hand somewhat, and will now quietly retreat and keep his nose clean for a while, or whether he will feel the need to try to save face by escalating matters.

At least we won't all freeze if he switches off the gas, now that summer has arrived.

Well we wouldn't freeze anyway. We'd just buy LNG off the yanqui instead. And the Frogs would be fine due to all their nuclear power stations.

The Germans would probably freeze, though. :shrug:
