Does rather depend what you're drilling. If it's a wall, then no

Absolutely. A man must have a work bench. I've never taken mine out of its box, but it's important to have it.

I will redo the floor, so I will need a saw. my saw is crap.

I am getting quite handy I changed the taps as one broke on friday evening. no messing around.
Ocado arrived. a quick dump then sped to Screwfix and was done within 20mins.

Apparently we have one, buried deep within the garage I would imagine

I have lived in and owned* my house for 15 years now and never owned a drill. A man does not "need" a drill.

When construction to the degree of drilling is required I employ a man.

*I don't.

I actually really enjoy doing this stuff.
If only I had worked out years ago the right tools are needed for the right job. :-(

Half the battle there.

What are you intending to drill?

Please note that replies relevant to a) my Mrs or b) my Mum will be ignored.

I have a heavy Black & Decker drill up in the loft
I know it is out of date because it needs to be plugged in

Makita. The battery is interchangable with other Makita devices.

Also, I want a petrol lawnmower for the summer. Not because there is anything wrong with my electric one, or that my garden is big enough to necessitate it; they just seem cooler :combustionengine:

good idea.
Whilst I am at it. the space for the fridge is about 5mm too short for the particular fridge freezer I want to fit.
the counter top is causing this as there is over hang.

can I cut a bit of the counter off?

Yes you can, or you can get someone in who will do a better job and means you won't have to replace the whole thing*

* Obviously it depends what your counter is made of

Petrol or battery would do, anything that means no sodding leads!! I just refuse to spend £300+ on another lawnmower

Nearly done that on several occasions. A job I never do hungover
