Zimbabwe in a little trouble vs the UAE....need another 185 off 28 overs with 7 wickets left.

If they blow this then the winner of Ireland vs Afghanistan qualify.

 At one point, I thought they were going to have the ultimate revenge and get us out for the lowest-ever score in tests.

Thank fvck for Overton.

Indeed - although he shouldn't have been playing. If Ben Stokes isn't fit to bowl he isn't fit to play imo so fudging the team to fit in an extra bowler is ridicules

I agree. But him being top scorer rather skews that logic, dunnit?

I‘m not sure logic and English cricket are particular compatible partners

top scorer when you score 58 isn't a great achievement

Hang on... we wouldn’t pick Ben Stokes as batter/fielder? Really??! I must say I disagree.

Anyway, looks like Boult bowled like a man possessed.

Why are you watching this ****, T? Does anyone care (even the UAE people and Irishers)?

The thing is...the Kiwi bowlers will always look that good on their drop in pitches.

But that’s no excuses for England not grinding to 150-180 ish.

When not fully fit now - can't believe that any injury that leaves him unable to bowl, won't affect his batting (given his style) and fielding. Best to rest a sore/injued back completely surely. Also as a specialist batsman in this squad he may be one of the best five but I think he is best suited to 6/7.

Will need to pencil that in as a free money week imo

Really?? Why are we allowing Ireland to play test match cricket? Bizarre if you ask me.

Do you get to pick Eoin Morgan?

Can’t wait for tomorrow...Afghanistan vs Ireland for the final spot.

Who were the other chaps who played for England? Boyd Rankin got a test or two, didn't he? I think Ed Joyce, too?

Joyce played for Ireland then England then back to us I think.

Never heard of Boyd Rankin, sounds a Protestant to be blunt.

I am not really sure how it works in Cricket. Seems quite make it up as you go along. If the chaps are short in Clontarf I suspect you could get a game.

I've looked it up and Rankin did similar. He still plays for you, I think.

You can't really blame someone who makes the grade for England playing for them, though, can you? Would you rather play for England on a central contract for bunches of cash or for Ireland for your bus fare to and from the ground?

Yep - they were the big 3. All admitted they simply wanted to play Test cricket. We wanted the young spinner from Somerset as well (Dockrell) but he never really made it

Once upon a time, Ireland used to play as 'The Gentlemen of Ireland' in lieu of a national team.

I must assume that they stopped that on the grounds that it simply became too hard to find 11 gentlemen in Ireland.
