View Full Version : Anyway, apart from that, how did you enjoy the game?

I noticed a number of the crowd had started to depart well before the final whistle. At least they waited until the players had departed the game :-)

Started this morning. Was coming down quite hard but when I crossed the Euston Road onto Gower Street it stopped and the sun came out. Beautiful day now. For now.

Just a slight covering at present, snowing on and off but blue skies in between the showers. Allegedly it starts in earnest this afternoon and chucks it down overnight...

Unfortunately I think it might be the fellow in charge.

I confess I switched it off after the second goal when I saw that our players had simply given up.

Bad timez, abr.

No, things are alright; we're in control of all the important things we can control. All the rest is just football results, innit.

Listless, strange, not really a final. I never expected to win so the loss didn’t bother me.

I just don’t think the old man can really inspire the team anymore. Perhaps there is something missing in the players but ostensibly they are good footballers so I have to look beyond that.

He really should leave this summer.

No snow.

I was thinking about this yesterday. Kolasinac and Xhaka were in the bundesliga team of the year at some point in the last few years. Now while those things don’t mean a great deal they still must have been playing at a fairly decent level to get that recognition. For us they look completely useless.

Welbeck AND Iwobi were the subs to try and rescue us yesterday.

Only one more season of Wenger after this one :cloud9:

Snow news? Light flurries...

We are going to turn Lacazette and Aubameyang into Sergei Rebrovs

You can find plenty of examples of this. Iwobi looked a lot better when he first came into the side than he does now. Rob Holding arrived looking like a guy who knew how to play at centre back- now he looks like he doesnt have a ****ing clue. Xhaka has definitely got worse, I would say Chambers has as well. Lacazette has turned into nothing at all over the course of six months.

Wenger ruins players. He used to do this so slowly that you hardly noticed but now it is speeding up.

I will be very, very disappointed if he doesnt leave in the summer. We are now at the stage where I am not sure a new manager could do any worse. You would have to really go some to take this side much lower than sixth.

The theory that Wenger's contract uncertainty was the main cause of last seasons poor form, is looking a little less likely now. Perhaps it was just down to poor management all along?

me too, P

Looking at his own comments after 2018 defeats, even he must be beginning it work it out...

bad decisions by players, complacency, "they were hungrier","not at the races" and so on and so forth.

He clearly cannot solve the problems or motivate the players to up their game.

Which means he can run down his contract again, without it being to the detriment of the performances. :cloud9:

Last season's poor form yielded an FA Cup win and 5 points more than we earned in the previous season.

Dont get me wrong, it was poor. It just wasnt anything new.

As above, it would be quite difficult to get much worse and it wouldnt have any real effect. I would happily miss out on the Europa Leage for next season and would rather finish 8th.

As much as I want the old man gone, I did feel Gary Neville's criticism was OTT. You honestly think we couldn't find tape of him jogging around Wembley in a cup final when ManU were level or down? Every minute of every cup final he was in when ManU were down he ran hard? Really?

I hate the rat faced, Reyes kicking, little weasel no matter how much I shared some sentiments.

Oh, and Ramsey and Xhaka in midfield again

I was thinking that. He was feeling the pain of having to support Arsenal for the day, as he clearly doesn't want City to win three trophies this season.

:hehe: Indeed. No need for that extra contract extension I was talking about recently. Only 15 months to go now then :-)

Yes, no need to panic. It's just the same pattern repeating itself each season.

Exactly. It assists in long term planning if you know exactly how, when and how badly you are going to fail each season.

Unpredictability is bad for business.

Well, quite. Remember when we did the Double and ended up out of pocket as a result of all the enormous trophy-win bonuses we were then liable for? Awful.

Wenger's first one. Thankfully, we'd sorted the whole sorry mess out by the time He won His second :-)

5 points more than the previous season in which we finished 9 (or so) points behind Leicester? :-|
