Yes. I'm in two minds, to be honest. I quite enjoyed Master & Commander, but he isn't Jack, is he? He's not jolly or kind enough.

I think he's an excellent Jack. Managed to convey Jack's clumsy, almost buffoonish nature while still making it credible that he was also a superb naval captain. For me, the casting of Bettany as Maturin was far more egregious.
