props to Sir C for its recommendation.

Happened to see the David Lean film in HMV for a couple of quid so, also on the recommendation of Sir C, bought it..... oh dear! Best I can say is it was of its time.

Young Pip, having been raised by Kentish marsh peasants, speaking like a little posh twát.
Estella not nearly beautiful enough as child or woman.
All accents Van Dykish in their ineptitude.
John Mills playing a 19 year old Pip, looking 42.
Every scene saturated with a ghastly, whimsical sound track.

You need to watch it on a rainy November Saturday afternoon, h. In 1989, in my flat in Biggin Hill.

Well we can't do that c but why don't I bring my copy of the filum round to your charming little bedsit in Chatham and we can cuddle up on the sofa with some chocolates, a box of tissues and have a good old snivel together.

Only if you promise to spit on it first this time.
