We had quite a storm overnight. Woke me up at circa 2am so I dragged myself out of bed, made a cup of tea and went to sit in the dark and watch it.

Usually it clears the air. In this case it seems to have made it worse.

Bloody rubbish storms Teresa May is to blame.

Brexit, surely. I expect George Osborne is preparing the headline on today's Standard as we speak.

Strange fellow, George. One can quite understand that he holds some personal antipathy towards Prime Minister May, but his campaign to undermine her surely increases the likelihood of :gulp: Comrade Jez coming to power.

Does George really want that?

It was rather an impressive spectacle, though, I must say. Sheet lightning turning night into day, ear-splitting thunder and a positive deluge. Really everything a chap could ask for from a thunderstorm.

Perhaps he still harbours ambitions of riding to the rescue as leader of the party? Although you'd have thought someone as clever as him would know that he is now hated by a large proportion of the Tory base, while much of the rest of the country think he's a creepy, oleaginous **** and would rather vote a gibbon in as PM.
