I don't watch it but I call it Games of thrones and this annoys people.
just by using an extra s.

Yes, I did like the opening. Although it felt a bit Monty Python watching them all clutch their throats and fall over.

Would it have killed them to chuck a gratuitous disembowelling in there as well?

For a seven-part series, devoting an entire episode to establishing everyone's whereabouts seemed a bit lazy. There was very little actual plot.

That came later - could have done without the bits with Sam :vomit:

Yes. That was most unpleasant. Also, trying to sell the fact that Dragonstone is built on Dragon glass as some sort of big reveal when Stannis said it ages ago was pretty poor.

ISTR a previous series where everyone held station for about four episodes before anything moved, so I can cope with one establishing episode. As LA says, the Sam poo-slopping was hideously overdone so with padding like that nothing much is meant to be happening yet.

Bran has effectively broken the wall though, by going through it.

I love Arya's character, but she might be a teensy bit over-powered now. I expect the Many Faced God will disapprove, and Jaqen H'ghar will appear, possibly as Cersei just as Arya is about to kill her, to settle the account.
