Andy Burnham last night said we shouldn't call it Islamic terrorism or Islamic extremism, as that would only serve to stigmatise all Muslims.

Instead, he believes, we should refer to it simply as "terror" or "extremism"

Not all our fault. Just partly. Abedi learned how to make bombs in Libya, where he was allowed to go to and come back from despite being a known Islamist. Thing is, 'we' were on the side of the Islamists, which is probably why he was allowed to go. Calling terrorists 'rebels' magically makes them ok, it seems. As I keep saying, we really should stop supporting Islamists.
