I can't help but feel aggrieved at the blatant favouritism which the referee showed towards Citeh against Leicester. Basically won them the game single-handed.

Come now Mo, you know piss-poor dog****e refereeing evens itself out over a season. its just human nature to think the last few games are somehow more important than at any other stage of the season.

It does even out when it's the odd mistake. But consider this: both Citeh's goals were illegal and Leicester had a perfectly good goal ruled out in bizarre circumstances. That's not just an unfortunate mistake.

Did they have a goal chalked off as well as Marhez's penalty - you surely can't be saying that was the perfectly good goal disallowed?

Having not watched the game.. why were City's goals dodgy, and what Leicester goal was incorrectly ruled out (you can't mean the penaltyas that was the correct decision... even if it is unlucky)

Sterling was offside and interfering with the keeper and defender, Silva was well onside. The penalty was Sane diving over the Leicester defender's body.

Not the correct decision if it was for taking two touches. He slipped on taking it and the ball hit his other leg. It was unintentional so he therefore didn't "take" two touches. If you slip and eff up on the run-in you don't get a retake or anything, if he had an involuntary advantage it's the same. Those goals (not that it happens often) are never disallowed.

:hehe: Utterly ludicrous about Man City penalty - nailed on. Far more so than Marhez falling over thin air as Clichy pulled his foot away

And you are simply wrong about the penalty as the law stands, I'm afraid. Counts as playing the ball - hence the referee was right.

Penalty Laws

"The kicker must not play the ball again until it has touched another player"
"If the kicker slips and effs up on the run-UP laughter is awarded"

Ball's gone, defender has his body on the ground. Sane hits him with his knee and dives acrobatically.

No quibbles about citeh's goal being offside then?

No - that was the wrong decision. Your view of the penalty has clearly been distorted by the slow motion replay. It is absolutely nailed on. The ball hasn't gone for a start

Well slow motion is really the important way to see it isn't it? Look at Crouchie's "goal"

It doesn't look like a penalty to me.

Although that is largely because the video wouldn't play :)
