Me too. Late 80s/early 90s. I became rather fond of West Ham as a result.

That said, I do remember a moment when Leroy Rosenior was trying to beat another black guy who was the opposition's left back and the bloke in front of me shouted "Go on, Leroy! He's only a ni**er!" to loud guffawing from his fellow fans.
