View Full Version : Now if I was really that bothered about doping in football, it wouldn't be Barca

that I'd particularly be going after, as proving systemic doping in a club strikes me as more difficult to prove than in an individual.

I'd go after certain individuals who seemed most likely to be guilty and work from there.

And the first thing I'd like to see are the blood profiles of N'Golo Kante. If anyone in football is doping, it's that little permanently running dwarf c*nt.

I'd test Pogba - must be on something to make him look like a lethargic **** who has never seen a football before compared to the athlete who played for Juve. Probably test the idiots who paid 89 million for him as well - they must be smoking something

Test Juve too, while you're at it. They have some previous, I think.

I watched him quite closely the other night, convinced that I must be missing something, because every time I see him he looks ineffectual.

He was, how can I put this technically? Mince. Utter, utter mince.

Wa, indeed, gwan?

Very good at the dab though apparently

Played next to Pirlo and Vidal at Juve. He's not good enough to carry an average midfield by himself. Waste of money.

But he was everything that's wonderful at Juve.

Perhaps next season he'll turn into Vieira.

It could just be the nature of Italian football. Also why their players don't travel particularly well (obviously the Pog isn't actually one of theirs). In England, ordinarily we'd tell him to never take more than three touches, if possible, and forbid him from shooting; Supporters' Player of the Year, easy. If there's no decent forwards about anyway.

Wasn't it your chap who said, the Italians can't beat you but you can easily lose to them. Most insightful and suggestive, I reckon.

Do you remember when Vieira would sometimes just gallop through the midfield in that ridiculously exciting way?

Fück I miss that team. :-( We really are never going to see better, are we?

Yes, but not like Luzhny. He was shïte.

No. They were an exciting spectacle indeed.

Not, however, infallible. We shouldn't fall into the trap of believeing everything was perfect.

Adams and Dixon allowing Giggs to run through them in '99. Adams looking like a donkey as Owen skinned him in the cup final. Bergkamp missing that penalty. They were great, but the difference between them and the team that could have won the league the year Eduardo got smashed was minimal.

He must have done more than just Prilo's running, surely? I mean, he could actually pass a ball, couldn't he?

Small margins though, as you are fond of saying. That team would've still won the league at a canter *despite* losing Eduardo.

Of course they weren't perfect. However, I still suspect they were still the best we're ever likely to see.

No need to ask nowadays, imo. Practically all of them would appear to be somewhat light on their feet.

I suspect that until football evolves again, you won't see any team that looks as good as they did. It was the mixture of pace, power and technique that made them exciting; the game is currently so mired in tactics, there's little room for exciting expansiveness.

BruceForsyth+ probably thought that of the team including James, Drake, Bastin and Hulme though

Yes, the game was a rather more open thing back then, of course.

I'm just feeling rather melancholy about it. We have heard the chimes at midnight, sort of thing. :-(

Yes, either of them. The point I'm failing miserably (as ever) to make is that if you lose the way *they* lost, you've always got a chance, whereas if you crumble the way the current lot crumbles, you've got absolutely no chance.

I don't have a particular problem with it either way, except to say that the current lot's issues are not the ones I would choose to have, as Wenger has evidently done.

In fairness, however it shall end, Wenger has had a brilliant run and everyone (including His rivals!) is extremely proud of Him really.

Just imagine if He'd left us in 2008 :-(
