A fraction of the electors that we have across the UK - we'd have it done and dusted by now

Worst joke I've ever heard.

Almost as if they have a different, more complicated voting system

It is without doubt one of the saddest spectacles in our election procedure that certain constituencies in the mainland "race" to declare their result first and take great pride in winning. Said constituencies are mainly in Sunderland, though, so no doubt they have little else in their lives

The count only began this morning. Probably supposed to start around 9 but allow for people out last night so maybe around 10:30 once they had stopped off for breakfast. Clearly then there is tea breaks and lunch to consider.

Nobody is taking power this afternoon anyway so early next week is fine.

Belgium did without a government for a year - I'm sure Northern Ireland will be fine

Proper order, imo. A mature and sensible view of the importance of politics which does the people of Northern Ireland great credit.

Hmmm.....so having taken the whole of Friday to count a million or so votes, they are now giving themselves a leisurely three weeks to have a bit of a wee chat about, you know, forming a Government. Which probably won't happen.

Someone needs to put a rocket up their arses.
