Hang on - is it 2007 all over again?

I think he'll struggle to get a game with Eto'o as the main striker and that young lad Messi coming through looks quite useful

Right. And the Arsenal will be back in the final too, wanting their revenge. They just need to hang on to that Henry fellow.

See? Luis thought you meant Alexis. Now you've made the poor chap look like a bumbling drunken half wit who can barely function in the mornings until he's has his first shot of liquor

Arsene. Arsene Wenger. Currently manager at The Arsenal.

PSG is the often mooted destination, or perhaps retirement. He is not a young man.

These big Spanish clubs have presidents who like to meddle in affairs that perhaps Arsene may not like them meddling in, football for a start.

2 more years with us or retirement I would guess.

He has just said “No matter what happens I will manage next season, whether it’s here or somewhere else.” Could be *******s but you never know. PSG and Barca might be looking for new managers.

I think the old tosser's far more of a drama queen than you give him credit for. Retirement would be far too sedate a denouement for him. I sense a bit of a flounce coming on with him bellowing at us "Now just wait and see what comes after me you fools!" (delivered in his comedy Cleuso accent of course).

The board to start with then the new manager after the honeymoon period (20 minutes into the first game of the season). Then the board for appointing the manager. Then Wenger for leaving

There will be nothing to moan about, b. Did you not see the memo? Once he leaves, everything will be milk and honey and wall to wall trophies.

He's been holding us back for years, you know.

Oh, God! It's going to be like Brexit all over again, isn't it? You want him to remain and are employing Project Fear, while those who want him to Leave are going to claim we'll get £350m for the transfer kitty if he goes. :-(

:hehe: Of course the Leavers are hoping that once he goes we'll stop importing all these fancy dan foreigners and give the jobs to good, honest native white men, I mean Englishmen.

Did you i) read Ben McIntyre's history of the early days of SAS, and ii) watch the recent TV show tie-in?

From todays Guardian:

There will be 700 of us at Sutton United on Monday and given the unique nature of the fixture, I expect the atmosphere in the away end to be quite upbeat. But that will no doubt change if we have not scored after 20 minutes. Fans will turn and once again the noise about Wenger will build. It has been like this for some time and will not change until the increasingly inevitable happens.

I've been watching the series, but have read about it before. I don't think they've really scratched the surface of Paddy Mayne yet, have they? A genuinely frightening individual who, one suspects, would have been just as happy killing people for the other side - just as long as he got to kill people.

Mind you, if his replacement came in and won the league, the look on Arsene's face would be fùcking priceless. :hehe:

Of course - I wonder if they all set their alarms to go off so they know to start moaning

I rather like the idea of all these rufty-tufty SAS chaps seeing Paddy firing into the firewater and trying to make themselves as scarce as possible before he ended up pounding one of them to a bloody pulp.

I come not to bury Wenger but to praise him. His time may well be up with us but that, for me, is no excuse to mock and belittle the finest manager we've had.

I would not begrudge him a final hurrah with Barcelona or whoever when he leaves in the summer.

he won't make it off the nou camp turf after Real put 7 past them in his first Classico.
