It is indeed a fine tune. I listened to it on my iPod just yesterday.

Finest song? Who knows, this is really a case of personal taste.

That is actually a beautiful song.

Give me no reasons, give me alibies
Tell me you love me and don't let me cry
Say anything but don't say goodbye"

True enough, sw.

Tom Waits? The Heart Of Saturday Night, for me.

I'm not really a Tom Waits person. In fact I am man enough to admit I am not sure I have ever heard the man sing at length.

My exposure to the man has largely been passive.

You would like him very much. Heart of Saturday Night, Rosie, Ol' 55, Jersey Girl. Tremendous stuff from old Tom there.

Didn't she also do that one about talking in your sleep? She did. Here it is. Prepare to cry yourself sick:

Three o'clock in the morning
And it looks like it's gonna be another sleepless night
I've been listenin' to your dreams and gettin' very low
Wondering what I can do
Maybe I'm being foolish
'Cause I haven't heard you mention anybody's name at all
How I wish I could be sure it's me that turns you on
Each time you close your eyes
I've heard it said that dreamers never lie
You've been talkin' in your sleep
Sleepin' in your dreams
Wish some sweet lover
Holdin' on so tight loving her the way
You used to love me
Talkin' in your sleep with lovin' on your mind

Yes. We can obviously agree about that. It also has the benefit of being short. Too much time in Van's company can become irksome in my experience.

Most of Astral Weeks, in fact. And actually most of Moondance. In fact, I would say Into The Mystic is one of his worst songs.

I would say it, I just wouldn't actually mean it. I think I have just confused everything here, haven't I.

Have you read the book? I feared the worst, but listened to him read the audiobook and it was quite, quite beautiful.

I did read the book as I felt obliged to do so. It was quite interesting.

I must admit, I was a little disappointed with both Dublin and Coventry. Great nights out but the sets were a bit **** and I didn't think he was on great form. 2013 was much better.

Pepperami is a brand, but its name does suggest it's a plural. I shall start referring to individual snack products of this brand as a 'Pepperamus' - just as one ought to refer to more than one Lexus as 'Lexii'.
