But it will encourage "the development of football all over the world". Translation: It's more people to receive bribes from.

But even funnier when Scotland fail to qualify

At least they have avoided the ludicrous three teams from a group of four nonsense that the Euros had

32 days, though, la! :-( I'm assuming everyone will just ignore the first two weeks and maybe tune in for the knockout bits.

Will probably be in the States as well - way to win over the public. "Game 73, Belize v Burkina Faso for the right to be stuffed by Brazil in the Round of 32 next month"

They're going to have to allow bigger squards so decent teams can put out the stiffs against Papua New Guinea et al.

Let the womens teams play those games.

In professional wrestling they used to have these no name blokes each week where the stars would beat in 2 mins. They call them jobbers.
Their purpose to build the stars leading to the big shows.

We don’t really embrace such terms here.

You ask a person where they are from they say “Ireland”, you ask them what nationality they are they say “Irish”. No person has ever or will ever say Republic of.

It’s Ireland, pal.

I predict 6 out of 16 pools will be deadlocked at 2 points apiece. NOT LOSING will be the key tactic.

I thought you (collectively, if not individually) were proud of your native language over that of the imperial oppressor. And that Éire was Ireland in Irish.

They'll be calling Côte d'Ivoire The Ivory Coast next.
