A bit like the Kardashian job. At least that had the added benefit of sending Kanye a bit radio rental.

Must say I'm in the odd position of finding myself agreeing with Kanye West in the last week. And yet his utterances ('black people need to talk less about race', 'Trump won because he conveyed his message better' and Obama not actually having achieved anything) are being represented as evidence of him being mentally ill.

I must conclude from this that I, too, am mentally ill.

Did I not read that he's been addmitted to hospital suffering from 'exhaustion'?

Yes. He's always been a bit odd, mind. And he has a messianic complex that makes David Icke look normal, but I'm guessing his 'exhaustion' is actually his publicity team saying 'Stop getting coked up and rambling on about stuff that hurts the brand!'

Is he the deeply unpleasant chap? I think I caught a few moments of his act at Galstonbury a few years ago.

I was, frankly, disappointed. He wasn't a real entertainer like Dickie Henderson or Bruce Forsyth; he didn't tell a few jokes, sing a song and do a little tap dance. No, he just sort of shouted into his microphone.

I don't know what young people see in these modern acts.

Yes, that is basically what he does, I think. He gets other people's music and shouts nonsense over it. The Guardian keep trying to make out he's basically Mozart.

But presumably you don't agree with his reasoning, which is that Trump will better expose America's racist underbelly...?

I am not sure why racism is still a surprise to people.

It's always going to be there. It's part of the human mechanism. Not that it's right but why people act surprised?

And I'm right in thinking he is married to a lady who is famous for being in possession of extremely large buttocks?

What a time, as they say, to be alive.

Meanwhile, the Horst Wesel Lied appears to have gone mainstream in the USA. Who would have thought it?

I must admit I didn't catch that bit. I would argue that Obama's presidency brought America's inherent racial fault lines to the surface and Trump's just ridden that wave.

Yes, it's all jolly good fun if you ask me. At the moment it's difficult to see the line between what's being done for effect to annoy lefties and what's actually being done because people are...y'know...actual Nazis. I'm all in favour of the former, of course, but the latter not so much.

Meanwhile, almost Trump's every utterance since the election appears to have been trolling, which bodes well.

Here's a pretty good data-driven piece on how many actual Nazis there are in the US right now (you need to scroll down a bit to get to the meat)

Was Paris always this violent? Or has it got worse since the film 'Taken'?

Yes. Obviously, in a country the size of the US there are Nazis and the likelihood is that they are always going to vote for the more right-wing of two presidential candidates. The idea that that makes Trump a Nazi is risible.

Although my wife says she would've certainly voted for him and she's practically a Nazi; woman did a "full English" fry-up yesterday and, as usual, no baked beans :-|

I agree with her. Baked beans only adulterate the Reinheit of a fry-up and must be stamped out.

I'm enjoying seeing the "Hillary didn't win because people couldn't bring themselves to vote for a woman" crowd attempting to explain why they won't, then, support Le Pen....

The wrong type of woman, it seems...

I got into a spat on The Guardian for pointing out that encouraging a woman to vote for a woman just because of her sex is philosophically identical to encouraging a white man to vote for another white man purely because of his race.
I then doubled down on this by pointing out that anyone expecting a woman to do this clearly had no respect for that woman's individual agency to make a decision based on something other than what she happens to have in her underpants.

They had all the bases covered. Trump voters are racist, sexist, and sexual assault promoters.

Personally I'm rather glad it's not up to me, but I'm more than capable of understanding why Frenchers would. Hard to argue the success of the benign, multi-racial, EU-centric socialist state when you have rampant unemployment, woefully unaffordable levels of state provision, virtually no inward investment and a massive, highly-radicalised muslim population with an unfortunate tendency to keep on slaughtering their fellow citizens,

I read it all, and would recommend others do so when they have the time. Very, very good piece, if a bit long. Thanks for sharing

Though it doesn't talk much about actual Nazis, rather white supremacists, of whom only a subset are swastika-carrying Nazis. I read a piece somewhere which reckoned that membership of actual neo-Nazi parties was about 400 people.
