'Ms'? Does this mean you have not made an honest woman of her, a? Or does she reject the trappings of marriage?

Congratulations, btw.

Congrats, and commiserations to Ms Ash. :-)

Mrs WES and I celebrate our 20th in April, four days of drinking and eating in Seville sans enfants are planned.

Anyone been to Seville? Happy to receive recommendations as to what to do between cervezas, mojitos and tapas.

Went there last year. I could recommend places, but the thing with Seville is that the things to do are obvious once you're there. The Real Alcazar, the fùck-off massive cathedral, the Plaze de Toros, the Barrio Santa Cruz, etc, etc. Essentially, though, Seville is for wandering about in, eating and drinking.

That said, one of the best meals we had was here http://www.mechelarestaurante.es

How old are your kids and who's lumbered with them?

Did you happen upon said restaurant or was it recommended?

It happened to be near our hotel and we'd walked past it several times and just decided to book it for the last night. We massively over-ordered, but couldn't stop eating. In particular, they did a fideua negra made with squid ink that looked abominable but tasted fantastic.

16 and 14 at that point and the in-laws who are now both retired.

I expect this doesn't help you in any way.

We have been there for the day only and it seemed much like you just described. I loved the cathedral so will be happy to see it again. And basically you just described my perfect city break.

My parents will be pushing 90 when my kids get to that age. They're not gonna be good for wiping their own arses, let alone taking the sprogs off our hands so we can fu*k off on holiday :-(

Ta, restaurant looks perfect, not at all poncy. Bit of a walk as we're staying at the place below but I'm sure a few mojitos will set us on our way

I fell asleep during sex in a Jacuzzi on the terrace of our hotel room in Seville. I wasn't even drunk :-\

No that's actually no distance at all. Seville is actually very, very small - at least the bit of it you'll actually want to hang out in is. Our evening perambulations regularly took us far further than that.

I used to love South Park when it first came out. Then all of a sudden I lost interest.
20 years :yikes: I remember buying a Cartman t-shirt in Our Price.

Ah very good, more excellent news. Did you not feel the need to get out of the city at all? When I googled it looked like there were a few interesting things to see not far outside of the city. This appealed to me:

Went there with that intention, but it was September and too hot to think about making day trips anywhere. You just get into the rhythm of meandering, eating, drinking, etc. It explains why Spaniards are so lazy, I guess.

I do think a huff is probably justified in that instance. Indeed, you were lucky to get away with just a huff.

It was about 2am, I'd had a big meal and a few beers. The steam from the Jacuzzi combined with the balmy night air just totally knocked me out.

It's never happened before, I promise :-(

Perhaps asphyxiation was involved? I used to know a woman who was forever trying to strangle me during the act. Silly cow had got it into her head that men liked this (presumably from some previous boyfriend). I had to make it abundantly clear that I did not.

From what I read it's the woman's decision at all times so even if your are unconscious it's up to her.

:-( Hmm. I don't know what the period of grace is between your sexual partner becoming unconscious and you stopping having sex with them that ensures you're not raping them. I'd say anything under 30 seconds is OK.

Isn't what that the Wikileaks fella is in trouble for?]

also nobody will have sex in the future.
You will have to get written consent. But if you ask for consent you will be called a sexual predator.

I seem to remember the issue there was that he wasn't wearing a condom and his partner was worried about his winkyleaks.

Hmm Phase 1 and Phase 2 have been so memorable

To be honest, this entire election campaign has been such a slow-motion car crash that nothing would surprise me any more.

Mind you, it's been hilarious watching Assange turn on a sixpence from being the darling of the left to their implacable enemy, a friend of Trump and Putin. :hehe:

WES - Alhambra in Granada is not worth it as a day trip from Seville in my view. I visited in September a few years ago and the volume of people was horrendous. Even with beat the queue tickets you still end up waiting everywhere for the previous group to exit and even then its just chaotic. The place is undoubtedly beautiful but I would only recommend it if I was staying in Granada itself and visited literally first thing in the morning to give you some chance of seeing it properly.

I much preferred both Cordoba and the Cathedral there - still rammed with people but its so vast you still get to see large parts of it away from the crowds.

But I doubt you'll want to leave Seville to be honest - lovely city.
