Could have been more had they watered the pitch. Probably best that they left it a bit on the slow side

Turned the radio on halfway up Honister Pass to hear Defoe score. Turned it off again.

Checked again at Buttermere, or, as I prefer to think of it, Buttockschmear.

Pleasing.

How's it going? How's the weather? Been up anything good? Uh-huh.

Lovely performance, that. Alexis was brilliant, imo and Olivier was perfect when he came on.

wd the pub. We shouldn't really have let them back in though. Even if it wasn't for very long.

Indeed. There was no need for it.

Weather lovely, beautiful cosy cottage, roaring fire and a glass of something red. Wish you were here, etc.

That's basically my life.

Apart from the "wish you were here" part obviously.

Excellent :-) If it's misty up tops, a stroll round the lakes of Buttermere or Crummock Water is an agreeable alternative. West side of Crummock is stunning, but East side less so, and had to get through a field of big scary cows. :-\ Possible Christmas shopping in the Honnister slate mine shop too.

Boire rouge?

It's for health, medicinal purposes, I'm assured :-(

Of course Guinness is technically red, but otherwise one thinks of various Belgian preversions.
