Alliteration FTW! Calling it 'Tracking' would be dull. Some might even say "off brand" :-|

Anyway, a spot of tautology never did any harm in business.

it's just tracking.

Track and trace is the generic term for the type of software, I believe.

Another observation, We call letters, post over here and wait for the postman. Yet it's delivered by Royal Mail.
In the US they call it Mail and it's delivered by the Mailman but deviled by the united states postal service
