If we play the same 10 outfield players who've played midweek against a team who haven't played midweek of course there's a chance they'll be jaded!

That's why you need to use the bloody squad! We have some injuries and you wouldn't want to change your centre-half piring while they're still getting to know each other but Gibbs should have started one of the two games and probably Elneny and Perez.

If he'd done that today then that would have given us the chance to bring Cazorla and Alexis (for example) fresh off the bench for the last half hour rather than see them produce diminishing returns.

Perez was injured

I agree. It was probably worth it though, with the international break next and the disruption that can bring.

Hmm, playing anything other than your 'best' Xl away oop norf is asking for trouble, I reckon. We could easily have lost that game 0-1 - as it was, even at only half pace, our groove is good enough at the moment to totally dominate the ball. A change of personnel might have diminished that control disastrously.

Rotate at home aqgainst weaker opposition, imo.

No such thing as weaker opposition at Emirates', imo, not with our baying, disgraceful, disloyal home support #wengerout :-)

Yes. The Basel game should have been the one to start Gibbs, Elneny and Perez (if he was available) and keep Santi on the bench for as long as possible.

Still maintain that starting some of your top attackers on the bench isn't going to lose you the game up north. But their coming on fresh with half an hour to spare at 0-0 might win it for you.
