Just a guess, but I think his saying that any deal he signed would need to be verified with the FA will save him. At that point the rest is just banter, I think.

It doesn't show much judgement though. He probably won't need to walk but his chances of staying in the job for long without doing something have most likely been shortened.

Equally, his comments hardly warrant the trouble and expense of setting up the sting operation, imo.

And from a Fleet Street that spent its Summer bemoaning the fact that the England players and staff don't trust them, this whole business is practically an own goal :homer:

Frankly, if reporters can't get juicier revelations than this out of Big Sam Allardyce while he's being secretly filmed during a sting operation, they need to take a long hard look at themselves. Get a different hobby perhaps.
