To be redeveloped as luxury flats, with a design more faithful to the Nash original than the post-blitz rebuild, according to the developers, and not faithful to the original according to local opposition. Except it's not opposition any more, obviously.

I shall miss it during the meantime. The only news source I could access mentioning a time frame to redevop was the five years quoted by the Daily Mail, so that cannot be true. Especially as you can build a Shard in three and a half years.

In better news, the appalling old Post Office concrete thundercloud at the top of Drury Lane is finally coming down. Huzzah!

Also the art-moderne Commonwealth House next to it is also getting refurbed. Dunno how that will work out but I liked the original. (This pic doesn't do it justice)

Proposed new 1 New Oxford Street. Looks ok, I think.

What??? I nearly bought a flat there fifteen years ago! Does that mean i would have been uber-compensated?

In Park Crescent? The developers bought it for £105m, so Do The Mathematics!, as they say. The result will be worth £500m.

Yes but I haven't got a clue how many flats there are in it.
