I know there's the CL games coming up, but the league must be the priority.
If Xhaka isn't better than Coq, then why have we spent £30m on him? Cos no-one would pay £30m for Coq.
Surely he should be starting. If we intend to have a MF of Xhaka-Santi-Ozil then the more they play together the better. But if he's just a squad player to be rotated with Coq and El-Neny, then we really haven't strengthened the first team very much this window.
Maybe Mustafi will be better than Per. But that wasn't a problem in our team. Maybe Perez will be better than Olly.
But we needed a decent MF to play with Santi behind Ozil. If we spend £30m on a player, shouldn't he be starting, given our poor start to the league campaign?
