I was surprised by this report:
"By 9.30am, seven of them had been arrested on suspicion of aggravated trespass, being unlawfully airside, and breaching the airport’s bylaws.
Two people remained locked together on the runway as officers negotiated with them."
Officers negotiated with them? The last time I saw a copper, he was carrying a whacking stick and a pepper spray. Surely these are powerful negotiating tools which could have had the airport open again in moments?
