why a Syrian refugee would carry a backpack full of bomb into a music festival. :hehe:

I'll give them three guesses. Clue: I don't think it's because he really hated Jethro Tull.

They've jusy found a video on his phone of him pledging allegiance to IS, apparently.

They'll need to throw that bit of evidence into their considerations. Looks a tricky one to me.

{Oh look another Moeen wicket. No need to thank me.}

That's 3 attacks by refugees in about ten days, ignoring the Iranian-German who seemed to be creaming about being bullied for 7 years.

The only Kraut media I normally read is the Spiegel English online edition which has at most one article a day.

I'm trying to find a German newspaper website in English and with comments, to see what they are making of all this.

But have had no luck finding one. I've found something called DW - Deutsche Welle - but they don't have comments.

Any ideas where to look? Or how you think the Krauts will react to all these attacks by refugees?

No doubt we'll still get the well-worn 'crazed loner' line pushed at us.

The krauts don't know whether to **** or go blind. A year ago they were virtue-signalling like **** about how wonderful and tolerant and kind they were for letting these people in, while simultaneously castigating everyone else in Europe for not joining in. Gallingly for them, Cameron's approach has been proved 100% correct and they've now realised they've made a powder keg and are desperately trying to keep the flames away from it by making out these incidents are nothing to do with immigration or Islam.

For all the seriousness of the situation, it would take a better man than I not to feel a wee bit of Schadenfreude at their predicament.

You know I'm a lefty, and Jorge will hate me for saying this, but I totally concur.

The only solution was to say we'd take the refugees from over there, and turn back any who made their own way over.

Thus we do help these unfortunate people {and not just the ones rich enough to pay people smugglers} while also taking away the pull factor leading to the drowning babies.

I've also been castigated by my liberal and Corbynista mates for saying for a couple of years that denying there's a problem with Islamic integration will just push people into the arms of the far right.

And saying "it's nothing to do with Islam" is exactly the sort of elephant in the room denial that leads to people giving up of the centre and voting fascist.

I've been saying this for two years or more now - since before Poland voted far right and Austria almost did recently.

And I've been called a racist for saying so.

Yes, well unfortunately calling people racist has suffered from the law of diminishing returns. It's been used so much as a means of closing down debate that it's lost its impact. The unfortunate side effect of which has been to give greater licence to actual racists, by inadvertently granting a certain nobility to their stances that is born of defying the 'liberal consensus'.

All in all, I fear that identity politics and its handmaiden political correctness will be seen in years to come as having been almost unbelievably counter-productive.

What if the bomb had gone off and he'd actually lost his non-standing leg? That would have been ironic.

Meanwhile we've had about 6 gang rapes in the last week. Police refusing to put out any descriptions. I wonder why??

But surely no-one's fooled, are they? Everyone knows what's going on, don't they? Is there not simmering anger (or at least what passes for it among Swedes)?

You almost have to admire the wilful stupidity of people who, in the midst of a worldwide terrorism crisis involving young muslim men from the Middle East, Asia and North Africa and whose neighbours Britain and France are struggling to cope with their own homegrown Islamic terror issues, actually go to the trouble of deliberately and consciously importing their own, don't you?

Yes, most people know what's up and are becoming seriously pissed off. These rapes are just the tip of the iceberg. There's been numerous reports of groping and sexual offences at festivals this summer. The feminists are still making it a man problem though. ****ing feminists. Although it's the police covering it up all the time that ****s me off. Six gang rapes, not one e-fit or description. Shocking.

Just before I went to bed last night I read briefly about the choppy machete man. I just rolled my eyes, really. Then I woke up this morning and heard about explodey man, I assumed that machete man had got bored of chopping and exploded himself. But no, TWO lone wolf nothing-to-do-with-Islams in one country in one day!

What are the chances?

Look, we've all been there. Woman rejects you? Chop her to death with a meat cleaver.
Turned away from a concert for not having a ticket? Accidentally detonate your nailbomb backpack.

They're both stories as old as time and could happen to anyone. Nothing to do with Islam.

Good Lord, the Swedish People's Democratic Socialist Paradise really does seem to have a problem.

"Rape cases per 100,000 people:

S Africa: 132
Sweden: 63
Australia: 28
US: 27
UK: 17
France: 16
Korea: 13
Russia: 3
Turkey: 1.5
Japan: 1"

Don't entirely agree.

I think PC did a very good job for decades making people more tolerant and the world {the west} a nicer place.

I do agree that they've pushed it so far that the law of diminishing returns is in negative territory by now.

As you say, unbelievably counter-productive.

Can I just ask where?

Not Sweden, is it? Where they found that in 2006, about 76% of the rapes were committed by migrants from mostly MENA countries. And then then just stopped releasing the breakdowns of the figures.

And do you have any links?

To be fair, that is slightly complicated by the fact that Sweden has a variety of types of rape compared to us, but even so yes there has been a vast increase that began with the large scale immigration of yer muslim types.
