View Full Version : Why the obsession with an English manager, given the choice?

I mean, if there were anyone of the calibre of SrAlf, Bobby Robson, Cloughie or El Tel then it would be a logical thing to do, but when Sam Allardyce and, er, Eddie Howe are the cream of the crop isn't there anyone better from abroad that we can choose, even if the very best ones are contracted to top European Clubs?

Is there something I'm missing, here?

As someone said here the other day, Allardyce knows how to get the best out of average players. So a good fit for England. And frankly the old walrus deserves a shot at a big job, and he's not going to get that at club level.
