He's fulfilled his purpose. It's possible to argue that the result of this referendum has made his party the most successful and influential single-issue pressure group this country has seen since the Suffragettes and him (almost inadvertently) one of the most influential British political figures since the war.
I'm not really sure how I feel about that, but it's largely true.
