Make you wonder how much Paul Mariner and Ray Hankin would be worth these days.

There's something very unsettling about his whole head/face combo if you ask me. It just doesn't all fit together.

I'm sure that's why the Vardy deal has been put on hold. To give Leicester a chance to sign a replacement without being ripped off (:hehe:)

The Birmingham Benzema will prove his worth.

Yes, he's got a massive square head. He also looks like an e-fit

He looks like Gary Wilmott after he's gone 10 rounds with Tyson Fury and then put his head in a wasp's nest

I think saying he looks like an e-fit just because he's black is a bit racist of you, j.

I am disappoint in you. :-(

It's a classic small club done good signing if you ask me. They want to overspend on someone just to show that they can. Mind you, Troy Deeney. As sw says '**** me'. :-\

I am calm as my belief is in fact that they are looking to buy him to play with Vardy, Champions League and all that.

Vardy and Deeney.

No, he just looks like his face was put together by someone assembling it from generic parts, badly

I wonder what happened to GW, he was everywhere in the 80s

I like the fact that they both end in 'Y'. What I wonder is how such chaps get nicknames. You can't be 'Vardy-ey' or 'Deeney-ey', can you?

In this case, the familiar form takes 'o'. Hence 'Vardo' and 'Deeno'.

Yes. He and Kenny Lynch were the acceptable face of black light entertainment in Britain (i.e. not too black) until Lenny Henry came along.

Do I remember Gary Wilmott doing Norman Wisdom impressions? :-(

Ah, many thanks. Not having played at a certain level, I'm not sure of the intricacies of this matter.

I'm sure you can guess what my sporting nickname is

I most certainly can.

I generally got stuck with 'Dutch'. :-(

Perhaps he's suffered some terrible facial trauma? Or Bell's Palsy, perhaps?

Or maybe he's just an ugly ****?

When I have to claim a high catch, I have to shout 'FANNY'S!' :-(

This causes some bemusement among the opposition and spectators. :-(

Is this an isolated example of what may be termed cricket bantz?

No. Merely the obvious contraction of my surname that I've been dealing with since I first went to primary school.

You shout your name for a lofted catch so that you don't get two people running into each other, y'see?
