I'm guessing that's the Kante rumours blown.

We want them both, surely.

We're losing 3 midfielders this season, so 2 coming in is feasible i suppose?

1 is sufficient given the existing resources and the fact that we signed one in January.

Welcome to Arsenal Granit.

Is AW going to spend that much on two midfielders; when he needs to allocate funds on a striker, plus, please god, another CB.

Agreed. Probably be Xhaka and Cazorla starting most games and Wilshere or Ramsey if Cazorla is rested or injured. Possibly Xhaka and Coquelin in the harder games.

Add Morata and a proper defender (plus young left back) and we'll have had a good summer.

For someone who has managed for 20+ years in England, the fact he has signed so few players from other English clubs is quite surprising. Bit more of a risk to sign someone with no PL experience, plus it takes a while for them to adjust. I bet he hasn't signed more than 10 from other PL clubs

Yes but we've also discovered Iwobi, mind. He should count for an in.

The taking time to adjust thing is massively overplayed nowadays - of course any player moving to any club can take time to adjust but the difference between leagues is not as great as people state - particularly Germany to England

I am going to come clean here, and *******s to Red who is my oldest buddy, but I do love a midfield signing.

The fact he is left footed just makes me want to masturbate at my desk.

I'm sure he'll get a few goals. Which will hopefully be followed by a 'Xhaka Daka Daka' machine gun celebration.

I wonder if this signing is a response to our season just past.

Window isn't even open yet and this lad is not cheap at all!.

The only concern I have is sometime when we sign somebody early in the summer it may mean someone else may leave.
Podolski was like that.

Yeah, just wait until December and he blubs because he can't have a second helping of Christmas pud as we've got Stoke City away on Boxing Day.

Thing is he actually does have a 'cultured' left foot and likes to shoot long range which means he'll be coached out of shooting outside the box by AW's tippy tappy :(

The price is too high, in any case. We'll try to banter them off a bit, I reckon.

It'll be a response to another year of injury prone midfielders. Arteta and Rosicky are nice chaps, but they really stayed on a year or two too long. Especially given the situation with Wilshere. We needed players like Elneny and Xhaka last summer. Having said that, if we do spend over £20m on a DM player, I'll need to sit down for 5 mins to get over the shock.
