Pissed pilot or wrestling for the controls with an Allan?

Might just have been him trying to save it when it had already sustained fatal damage.

But no distress signal appears to have been made from humans in the cockpit. Only automatic signals sent when plane lost contact.

If they were fighting to keep the plane in the sky, they'd presumably have hit the distress button.

Tell us more of this 'distress button'?

Had there been an explosion on board which destroyed the flying controls, it may well be the case that the crew 'struggled' to control the aircraft for a brief period before it broke up. During such a period following an obviously catastrophic failure they probably had better things to do than make a Mayday call or dial 7700 into the transponder.

The first thing you learn in flying is the sacred set of priorities: 1. Aviate. 2. Navigate. 3. Communicate. In other words, fly the ****ing aeroplane and talk to people when you get a chance.

You were discredited after your last foray into plane crash hypothesis. On that occasion, as I'm sure you'll recall, I was proven absolutely right.

I'm assuming it would look a little something like this.

This is why monty keeps having car incidents. He thinks the Hazard lights button is the distress button.

Hmm, I see that ATC called the aircraft without response at 03:27, and it dropped off the radar at 03:20:40, so that leaves us at least 2 minutes 40 between something going bang and the aircraft disintegrating or hitting the sea :sherlock:

He likes the publicity.
