and was greeted by the genuinely weird sight of some bloke in jeans in the middle of an arena making horses walk around in circles while something that looked a bit like Kylie Minogue after a stroke sang a song.

I saw a bit of that. It had Ant and Dec. Ant and ****ing Dec, for Her Majesty's birthday? Diabolical.
