Not to Monty this up but I did meet him once and he was a truly lovely bloke. Mad for the Tapas too, which makes sense when you think about his other proclivities.

he used to stay at the hotel I worked at.

Then we had a drink with him in Filthy McNasty's

The only food they sold was crisps. Not a craft or a real ale in sight. just a few geezers who looked like retired villains from The Sweeney all drinking lager and Spurs winning 3-0 on the telly.

straight-up, mellow should-be-legal-and-does-far-less-harm-than-alcohol stuff too.

Also, it was the FBI who took pretty much all of his money. You should read his book, it's really rather good.

Just so I'm absolutely clear, you're saying that murder is the same as moving large amounts of resin over from Pakistan in shipping containers, yeah?

if drinking was made illegal would it suddenly become immoral to drink?

The whole business sounds a bit arbitary to me

was not some benefactor supplying needy people with a panacea. He profited ruthlessly from whoever bought his stuff and didn't give a **** what happened to them.

Your bit of resin is the fried brains of two friends of mine who had too much of it.

You know that wasnt my point though, what I'm asking is if something is illegal is it automatically immoral?
