some point on Friday night I had been banned from posting comments on The Guardian website.

Now, I don't really mind. It was bound to happen sooner or later and in one sense I consider it a badge of pride. What annoys me, however, is not knowing what I said to finally get myself banned. I would at least like to think I went out with a bang of deep and visceral offensiveness.

That's amazing. It must have been quite a tirade.

consistent argument against a certain viewpoint. It suggests that consistent dissent is some kind of aberrant activity and that it is therefore legitimate to shut it down.

'Trolling' for me means being personally abusive, threatening or bullying in tone. It doesn't mean telling people they're wrong and why.

If it makes you feel better, I'm banned from the Telegraph and all I did was post stuff about HSBC.

I thought 'Allahu Snackbar' deserved a lot better than 37 likes, tbf. Humourless lot, y'see (although I could probably have worked harder on selling the gag).

I was under the impression that you had no recollection of what you said because drink had been taken in some quantity.

that isn't 'trolling', as it isn't a persistent pattern of such behaviour. That's just being drunk and (probably) a ****.

egregious **** that people tend to ignore him if they possibly can.

I think they do 'egregious ****' as some sort of extra module at that school.
