profited from it is f**king laughable.

Actually, if you ever want to know what a non-corrupt political society we live in, refer to the fact that our media are wetting themselves over a few quid handled entirely legally and on the profits of which all tax was paid :hehe:

That's not a financial scandal.

It is of interest purely because in the past Cameron has waved the "morality" finger at others. That was his mistake, that's where the embarrassment lies, so naturally the press are going to have their fun with him.

People forgive financial shenanigans from his sort; it's almost expected, in fact, like Bill Clinton's tail-chasing or George W's DUI that time. Wealthy man like Cam could've easily laughed off a piffling thirty thousand.

What people don't like though, is being bantered off. That was careless of him.

Meaningless, irrelevant nonsense which will have the hard of thinking pissing their knickers for weeks.

It's all so desperately lumpen, lowest common denominator nonsense.

I'm prepared to bet that if people on this board could be bothered to check their unit trust vehicle, 90 pc would find they were registered offshore

It's all just a bit of fun, I think.

liability isn't fit to run a business.

Actually, though, the expenses scandal was more significant in that it did actually throw up examples of illegal activity. Here we have a relatively small sum that has been legally acquired and sold, with all the relevant taxes paid on that sale and on any profits accrued. Only in a remarkably incorrupt country such as this one would that constitute any kind of financial scandal.

missing larger points. It's all good fun, but rather self-defeating.

Which, one could argue, is far more serious.

raise their salaries, so it had become the norm to top up earnings by claiming expenses. The whole 'scandal' was down to journalists squealing like children who've found a Fiesta in the bushes.

I just wish we could all be a little more adult about these matters.

Their compensation for low pay and public contempt is power.

That's the deal

You can't just go around changing stuff like that. What are you? Some kind of communist?
