View Full Version : Got shunted in the rear last Thursday

Sitting at lights on the A1 southbound and a car packed full of 5 Romanians slammed into me at 30mph, shunting me into the car in front.

As an amusing postscript, we’d only found out the day before that we’d been driving uninsured since February after reminders were sent to the wrong address. Oh, and the policy prior to that has been null and void because it was missold to us ( a 'any named driver' policy only available to people who don't live together).

Your inability to inform your insurance company of a change in address would not have stood up in court.

Re your story, I was hoping it would have progressed into some type of scam. Poor show.

As is driving around since February with no insurance.

I felt absolutely fine.

Apparently it’s because I didn’t have my handbrake on, so the car got thrown forward with me, reducing the jolt to my neck.

felt one shunt or two.

One shunt would mean the bloke who hit me is liable for everything.

correct or to inform them straight away if anything has changed?

That's the bit where it becomes your fault.

off you as you should ont legally have been on the orad plus the old bill will hopefully pull you for it too. Finally the car in front will always first claim off car behind as automatically you areat fault until proven otherwise, knock for knock etc. So hopefully you will be shelling out many pounds for your negligence imo. Uninsured numbnuts on our roads really get my goattbh

Domestic administration is so dificult, I find. Such unfortunate mistakes can be so easily made, and it could certainly be the insurance company's error. They could have omitted to enter your new details correctly.

In which case you're a public menace with a habit for blaming others. Unless you can of course confirm you're not.

If you did, the car in front will claim from you, and you will lose your no-claims bonus.

Eejit.

Berni

his parked car. Apparently, heart attack boy was not considered to be responsible for his vehicle when he was having the clutcher and therefore his insurance company refused to pay out.

There's *******s, eh?

2) We only have 3 years no claims so no great harm done there

I wonder if he has an uncle who is the former Gauleiter of Wangawanga province and has a lot of US dollars resting in his account?

If it isn't your fault, you wait until the other bloke's insurance company starts writing to you requesting details of your insurance company. You then either, a) throw their letters in the bin until they give up, or, if you're feeling a little more sporting, b) write back to them suggesting they stuff it up their arse and f**k off while they're doing it.

'Can't remember officer, I don't have it with me'.

But he won't ask you these days, because his 'puter will confirm that you are insured, and that's all he cares about.
