I played football for a team in Tottenham, about half the team came from the housing estates in the shadows of WHL, mental yids. Sound men though, very good friends.

The vast money available in club football, along with the cream of management, allowed to cherry pick players from anywhere in the world to form a team, and then to work with them every day in training.

Look at the Barcelona manager as an obvious example who can pair the 3 best players from the South American continent into the same forward line. An extreme example perhaps but the real quality on show in the CL is from the very top sides.
