Some are telly programmes.

1. Withnail and I.

Hasn't changed. The best bit is still King Curtis' live 'Whiter Shade of Pale'.

2. Life of Brian.

Blessed are the cheesemakers. :hehe:

3. Atonement.

Bit miserable. Plus, one minute he was fine, and the next he was dead of septicaemia. Wouldn't that take a while to kick in?

4. Bridge of Spies.

Lovely stuff. Like a warm, comforting blanket. Spielberg and Hanks dfoing what they do best, and Mark Rylance playing Mark Rylance.

5. The Lady In the Van.

Too much of Maggie Smith's poopy. I kept imagining her crusty old sphincter.

6. Carole.

Dull, dull, dull. Gave up after an hour. No lezzing at all.

You should watch Bone Tomahawk. There's a superb scalping/being cut in half crotch first sequence, apart from anything else.

They're just films - but not as good.

Also because it's got Batman and f**king Superman in it.

What kind of comic-reading sex deviuant are you?

used to play the leisure centre manager in 'A Little Bit of Fry and Laurie'. Once I read that, I kept expecting him to say 'Damn you, Marjorie!' all the time. :hehe:

For a start, nothing happens.

At the theatre it is a magical experience.

There are other examples.

Boys of that age like that ****.

It is his 7 year old sister’s birthday, today in fact. She wants to go to the cinema but chances of a 7 year old girl and a 9 year old boy settling on the same choice?

As a parent you do these things. On the plus side I will get a large bag of pick & mix, perhaps some popcorn and relax, gently nursing what I hope to be but a mild hangover.

And yes, I am led to believe it is a very poor film.

Your response is simply blaming on your boots the faults of your feet.

DID YOU SEE WHAT I DID THERE AS WELL?

watch it due to it being tedious dreck. However, put it in a theatre, where the credulously pretentious audience is only too willing to say they see the Emperor's non-existent clothes and he gets a f**king Nobel Prize.

What a load of ****.

Actually you'd be right to say the same about Hamlet :-(

Some things simply work better on stage. Journey's End. A Man For All Seasons. Anything by Coward.

And he's a tedious little whiny prick.

Basically, what you're saying is that plays need to be extremely limited in their scope - set largely indoors and ideally in one room for preference - and involve huge amounts of arch and unrealistic dialogue to be able to compete on stage with what can be done on film.

There are very few films as crushingly boring as Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.

You really must check out ' The Tunnel ' first series on Sky catch up.
I'd put money on it you'll be pleasantly surprised.
