They seem to be reporting on a possible event following a hypothetical event, a story based on uncertainty, which from a distance seems to sum up so much of this EU exit thing you lot are doing.

Of course they may have an ulterior motive.

Good luck to them.

nullify their impact. Were I co-ordinating the Remain lot, I'd be easing off on the negativity a bit - at least for a while, since it's a/looking rather obvious and b/ is making it too easy to dismiss. Meanwhile, the 'Out' campaign is picking its targets rather more carefully.

who just happens to be 'the face of the Britain Stronger in Europe campaign'. In other words, all these stories stem from a briefing or a letter or some action on the part of those campaigning for the 'In' vote.

You don't think journalists just come up with this stuff on their own, do you?

I did see comments attributed to an agent, and indeed in another piece did see comments from Brady.

Thing is she is simply giving her opinion on what may happen, nothing is set in stone. Of course once or if you vote to leave the EU then I cannot envisage 100s of footballers being escorted back to Europe.

see how impotent and bound by consensus regulations the EU are in protecting its individual markets.

though it were fact and the story has effectively followed that line wholesale - only beginning to acknowledge the fact that it's not necessarily true right at the end of the story.

Basically, if you want to know how a news medium wants you to think, look at how it handles stories. That goes for both sides, of course, but the fact remains that there's no such thing as an impartial news medium.

I dreamt last night that you and I were in a bingo hall in Ireland, when Neil Diamond walked on stage with The Band and played 'Dry Your Eyes', just like in The Last Waltz, and knocked it oot the park, as it were.

Bloody good, it was.

People have pointed out that we saved the banks, so we should save the steel companies as well

Why were we in a bingo hall? And why in Ireland? And why was Neil Diamond there?

Your dreams are much more interesting than mine. :-(

Last night's must have lasted for quite some time. There was drinking Guinness at night under an ivy-clad pergola. There was a hen party of Irish nurses. There was a drive from Bunratty to Kilteely. It was all very detailed.

The Neil Diamond bit was odd, though, I confess.

Good luck to her, that’s how life operates. More fool the people who accept what she says in totality and allow it to be the defining factor in their decision making. Thing is you read the full article and there does appear to be general uncertainty about what could happen.

I’m not really interested in newspapers or agencies and their biases or political persuasions.

Save for the sport section I generally don’t tend to read them.

and to somehow block construction companies from buying much cheaper steel from China. Because Cameron won't nationalise a loss making company to save the jobs, he's being accused of favouring his bullingdon mates working in the banking sector with bail outs (I thought it was Labour who bailed the banks out anyway?)
