“I have no doubt about my motivation,” he said. “I built this club with hard work and without any external resources. If you compare the club when I arrived and how it is today, it is moved forward – and without any help from anybody. There was no money from anyone. Now I am even more motivated than the first day I arrived. And I feel even more pressure and responsibility to keep this club moving forward.

still a nut job though...

...and twisting it into some sort of egomaniacal self-aggrandising insult to everyone else.

I'm happy as it doesnt sound like he wants to leave, and frankly he has every right to tell us to go f**k ourselves, but I do think it will take something huge to get over the negativity most people seem to demonstrate towards him.

The worst thing about it all seems to be that the only way out of it revolves around placating, or even validating, emotionally retarded man-children and further reinforcing their already massive, elephantine, grotesque sense of entitlement.

I strongly believe he should tell us all to go f**k ourselves and go get mash up with Pelegrini.

How are you liking The Night Manager? I've never read it, but if the series is anything like the book, it's one of the ones where Le Carre gave up on complex character development and introspection and just went for a rollicking, slightly lobotomised spy thriller instead.

None the worse for that, of course.

loving it, I reckon. This is exactly where you want to be, as a football manager. All but perhaps two or three of them would happily swap places with Him.

we're probably going to have to accept that he'll be here next season. He'll acknowledge the frustration and force through three or four summer signings. The squad itself is more than capable of top 6 minimum, therefore a string of results is never that far away.
In the top 4 by xmas, pressure subsides with performance and the fans will know he'll be gone by summer 17..

What we don't want are him losing the plot under a torrent of moronic abuse and fans kicking lumps out of each other in the ground.

I'm talking about John Le Carre, nom de plume of David Cornwell, who has written so many marvellous novels about the world of SIS; the man who introduced us to such timeless characters as Alec Leamas, George Smiley and Peter Guillam.

So pretty much made it up. Not sure if him and Oezil are a perfect fit (you know the whole world cup win aside,) but I would bloody love it if we signed him

Most of the acftion in the book takes place in Pine's head, really. It's thick with fear and claustrophobic with tension; the moments of action are a welcome release from the stress of introspection, a gushing climax, if you will.

After the swansea game it felt like we'd reached a watershed and that whatever he did he was bound to be gone. I dont think people's feelings towards him have changed - and i do think we're in such a slump that we could easily fall to another couple of defeats - but I'm glad he's still fighting.

Despite the eventual slump they could have gone 3-0 up against Swansea in the first half, and if the mirror****'s goal hadn't been judged a gnat's nose offside we'd probably be back at Wembley again.

Results have been ****, but the performances haven't all been entirely ****.

I've no idea why I'm clutching at these straws, tbh. Maybe I'm saying there's a chance of squeezing out a few wins to hang on to third or fourth. Won't stop Spurs winning the league, unfortunately.

I am now beginning to think the more he gets criticised, the more defiant he becomes, the more he wants to succeed doing it his way. Unfortunately, while not hurting us, it may be what is preventing us from reaching that next step.

Perhaps the best course of action is to stop getting on his back and maybe his attitude might change.
