If he was thinking like an investment banker he would have invested. He was actually thinking like a coach who knew he had players with ability. He wasn't wrong, they are players with ability, we've seen it, just not consistently, because they are players who are content to cruise through games, pick up their salary and if they lose a game it's not the end of the world. As someone said they can still take their selfies, and post crap on twitter, rather than focusing on what their real job it.
