Disappeared over the horizon. Docked at Tema, discharged its cargo of used clothes and tyres and sailed on. Now going down the coast of Namibia, en route to the Cape.

we keep passing to the opposition and to the ballboys.

It's odd though, don't you think, that the team are even worse away from home where are little petals are spared the terrible predations of the fans?

At least we're not chucking coins at them yet.

Shame on you. :-( Even if Theon probably does deserve it.

If the club knocked ten quid off entry, it would transform the stadium into a cauldron of tribal passion, each and every supporter willing the club they love on to victory.

Instead the greed of the club means the poor f**kers are forced, against their every instinct, to spit bile at the players as soon as a misplaced pass is made.

Meanwhile, Spurs will march on to title glory because our players BARELY HAVE A F.UCKING SPINE BETWEEN THEM!

It's over, old chap. We're playing quite dreadfully. We have to go to Tottenham, West Ham, Everton and Citeh.

Just... let it go.

trudge off after 45 minutes of little bit sterile domination/nervousness/handbrakeyness, that would also be useful.

There's a title to be won, after all, and it is surely logical that we would want to help the players out of their current malaise, rather than grind them down them even further.

Because we all laaaave the club

I don't think we're *that* far away from easing ourselves back into form. If Monreal had taken that early chance against United, it could very well have ended up a comfortable victory.

Details...

players are foreign and probably couldn't give a **** if Spurs won the league (beyond being disappointed that it wasn't us).

On the one hand, it probably puts them under less pressure, but on the other, it would be nice if they knew and understood how f**king **** everything will be forever if they did win it :-(

I don't think they fail because they lack leaders. I think they fail because

I would expect them to react in equal positive and negative ways, depending on what they see in front of them.

In fact identical behaviour as that seen at every football ground up and down the country, and other countries.

Arsehole.

Thing is though, many suspect this truth but talking about it kind of ruins the game, for some. And the players and managers' chummy behaviour towards each other doesn't really help either.

Average Arsenal.

Berni

Look at Ian Bell. Technically excellent when the pressure's off, but mentally weak, which causes him to make the wrong choices when the pressure's on.

See also Dennis Bergkamp missing that f**king penalty.

many goals Theo had in his last xx performances. Seems to have stopped that one - 2 in 22 isn't that impressive tbh

Stoke fans know this, and apply it excellently. Go mental over every decision you don't like the look of and the ref will eventually give you a couple to give himself a break.

Ian Bell though, of course .. well ..

What I mean to say is,

Berni

the game in the last 25 years. Given that, why should he ever miss a penalty from 12 yards? The answer can only be mental frailty.

And let's be honest, we can't complain. If Dennis hadn't been mentally weak, we'd never have had a chance of signing him.

redgunamo

Not enough striker money basically. That's where the regular/occasional aimlessness/lack of leadership comes from, so your Cox lad has actually missed the point himself after all.

ones who can do it every time when there's something riding on it. And that's how we know the difference between talent and character.

I would recommend the film 'The Hustler' as the meisterwerk on this subject.

backwater like Arsenal otherwise? His talent meant he should have never have dined anywhere other than at the top table of great European clubs, rubbing shoulders with the greats. He should have won umpteen European Cups.

Instead he spent most of the time at London Colney with people like Ray Parlour worrying about the FA Cup. My conclusion is that he preferred to be the big fish in the little pond where he would never be judged as harshly.

redgunamo

at the onset of his Flugangst and so, Reise nach Jerusalem-style, he was forced to stay put.

We're probably as big a club as he could have hoped to play for anyway, with that in mind. Nowadays it would be even worse for him; even The Horse, Hound & Hare FC tour the Far East.

On the other hand, Real Madrid could've forced him to fly by making him their 100 million pound star signing and face of the club.

Basically, he was worth alot more money than anybody was prepared to pay for him. Nothing to do with his character really. Unless his fear of flying points in that direction itself http://www.awimb.com/images/smiley_icons/ohwell.gif
