How do I check?

The phasing out of things annoys me quite a lot as when I find something I like I tend not to deviate to much. I suspect in a matter of time for example I will need to replace my trusty iPod which has served me well for a decade now. God only knows what I will have to make do with as the turny wheel thing I have is dead.

I was chatting with one of your fellow nerds this morning as I had problems with my pc when I came in, one of these remote support jobs.

He asked me to "hard boot".

So I asked him if he meant for me to pull the plug out of the back.

Apparently hard boot is to keep your finger on the power button until it automatically dies and comes back to life.
