View Full Version : I believe it's customary to identify a scapegoat in these situations

I'm not going for Per or Flamini, both too obvious imo.

Theo  that's the rat

I think I woke up in the middle of the night thinking about that.

Mind you, he did do some good things like fill back in for the clearly dead Ox and also holding the ball up. Theo was just a spectator, I almost wanted to swap the paraplegic Ox back on.

A better team/player would have created a chance out of that (as indeed Barca did to us)

We had a couple of efforts on goal, including a good header by OG

In summary, Ox is to blame

decisions when it was game over. The bent ones tend to do that to have statistics backing their fairness.

Then, having secured a mystifyingly good deal, he reverts to his customary mediocrity.

The worst decisions were in the first half, mainly in Barca's favour but some we got lucky with. All the ones like Coquelin harrying Messi and winning it, or Busquets cleanly tackling Giroud - they just broke up any flow in the game and it was ****.

Classic CL ref tbh.

Per is starting to fade. Flamini can be a useful squad man, but we've needed more than he's capable of giving. Theo? As always he's either quite useful or really, really awful. Someone said he's losing his pace. Can you imagine how bad he'll be if he can't even run quickly?

No need for scapegoatery.

Though, now you mention it the following are all c**ts in no particular order:

Giroud
Mertesacker
Giroud
Flamini
Theo
Giroud
Giroud
Chamberlain

And I will add Ramsey for departed slain brothers who cannot put forward their own opinions.

Also, people were really having a go at Mesut for some reason, I thought he had a decent game.

We were given a goal kick when Cech stopped Suarez in the the first half, clear corner with the 5th or perhaps 6th official stood watching them from about 2 yards away.

Thing is, as you suggest, when you see that they have a midfield player who is better than any midfield player at our club, yet they play that midfielder in defence then you know it's going to be tough.

Different class.

Shabby Alonso and Mascherano :myword:

The only thing that could have improved it was the addition of gareth barry.

Giroud helped out well defensively but i thought his play going the other way was ****. He'd win the ball and hold it up only to pass it to one of their lot. Welbeck looked better in 20 minutes than Giroud did for 70.

Mascherano less controversial of course as our reported interest was at the time of the convoluted ownership of him and Tevez.

Alonso we were just saving up for something else.

Defensively, I thought we did ok for large parts of the game. We seemed to lose discipline once we conceded the first goal.

Unfortunately, we were not particularly good on the ball all night yet, we caused their backline problems, which tells its own story. It does make it feel like we missed an opportunity.
