Presumably back and a straight first 11 player, the old conundrum of 3 into 2 in midfield again relevant.

For now he may simply see Ramsey as a better midfield option than Elneny who is new and readjusting but has also had that period of adjustment disrupted by injury. He will have played a reasonable level of CL football before with Basel so we are not chucking him in at the deep end. I think an extra body in midfield is of as much use as potentially Campbell or Chamberlain.

Conceding as few as possible is of as much importance tonight as getting a few ourselves.
