Figured out what it meant on only the sixth time I read it! :gstb:

The hyperventilating has begun in the media, I see. Well done. It doesn't appear that this is coming down on left/right lines. How is it falling on AWIMB? Could Jorge and Berni possibly be in agreement? :sherlock:

Nice of your chaps to help the sane cause by saying they arent interested in a UK only trade deal.

That's the nature of non-partisan issues, j. We all have bedfellows with whom we feel deeply uncomfortable.

Nothing wrong with that, of course, but maybe best not to try taking the moral high ground.

I've also worked for French companies that headquartered themselves in London due to the EU making that ridiculously easy.

In the past two years I have done nothing but a couple of grand's worth of work for an EU thinktank though. All privately funded, mind.

There, is that fair disclosure?

The pros are as you see it.

I know that's not quite factual but it's close enough.

One has to think it will affect players being signed in the future from current EU countries.

Now you can just sign them and job done, freedom of movement within EU states or whatever.

Non EU state players have to apply for Visas and meet fairly strict criteria based on international football appearances.

Coquelin would fail as an example. Others also perhaps.

No good will come of it.

The whole politics thing in general, couldn't give two f**ks about it.

They are all liars.

in the EU we could decide all that **** for ourselves.

Non EU membership may mean that Johnny English wants to restrict the number of foreigners coming over here stealing your jobs.

Less foreigners means a better national team.

Much, much easier to sign players in othjer EU countries, hence the whole Belgian Feeder Club fashion.

Itll be like the 80's again. TV revenues will collapse, salaries will deflate, ticket prices will tumble, the user base will return to an earlier demographic, with raucous atmospheres, terrace violence and crumbling stadiums. Just what some peope have been yearning for, in fact. :-

Unless, of course, the visa system is adjusted for professional footballers to preserve the industry.

"Independent analysis has shown that two thirds of European footballers would not meet automatic non-EU visa criteria and therefore would be forced to leave. The loss of this currently unhindered access to European talent would leave British clubs with a considerable disadvantage. "

Though it might go against one of the basic reasons for exiting.

I am not sure a rule could exist for one profession and not all.

I won't pretend to really understand it as I simply don't.

Or international cuisine. And there are enough people already here to cook that for us. It's about the unelected EU oligarchy, so it shouldn't affect the menus.
