on the mother it's still disgusting to look at. I remember when i was in the hospital i kept telling myself "don't look down", as if i was walking across a high wire 1000ft up. I looked down :-|

Don't even get me started on the placenta :-(

so you can’t see anything that’s going on.

I tried to stand up at one point and one of the 8 f**king people in the room forcibly pushed me back down.

I was like, err, it’s my partner and my c**ting bahy, so I stood up again and took a glance over.

I really wish I hadn’t. They don't let you look for a very, very good reason :-(

I know this because I went to the Natural History Museum on Saturday.

the finished article.

Humans basically give birth to a foetus because if we waited until they were more developed, women would have to gestate for about two years and have hips wider than most doorways to accommodate the level of development. Giving birth to helpless, useless young is an evolutionary trade-off between the brain and women's hips that allows us to have a relatively short gestation period (and women aren't grotesque), but the downside is that we have to care for the infant totally for a long time postpartum rather than it being able to get around on its own.

cognitive, problem-solving and deductive capability than pretty much every other non-human animal on earth, which is also pretty amazing.

They need a huge amount of care and are pretty helpless for two years, until they reach adulthood. In terms of overall lifetime the tiger childhood is probably comparable to humans.

And tiger cubs are literally the cutest things EVAH!
